Music Video Creativity

For those who think creativity is lacking in hip hop (which its not) here's a couple of videos that will (hopefully) restore your hope in hip hop.

Shad - The Old Prince

This is a dope song overall. His delivery is defenantly something. He's an artist who talks directly to you, not around you like other hip hop tracks. Give it a good listen.

The Video is dope because...well...just watch and you'll agree.

AC - New Soul

Wow, i haven't seen Music Video creativity like this in a while. Probably because i don't know about too many new music videos. But for the ones i do know about all seem similar. What do you see in todays music videos? This vid above hasn't been done in a while, or probably ever. Hip Hop need innovation like this.

Plus The music video will put you onto the actual song itself, its just a cool song to listen to.

No One On The Corner pt 2

Here it is, for the people who have not yet heard.

There was a previous response to this praising all of the good qualities of this song. Now i'm gonna show you why it is, in my opinion, an overrated song.

• The Sample.

The intro comes in. I instantly recognise the sample from yet another song that's overhyped. M.I.A.s "Paper Planes" song came in as a "What the hell is she talking about" Song until people started falling in love with it, for some strange reason.

• The Beat

Started out hot, got boring half way through. This is just my opinion, keep in mind.

• Corny lines.

"How it feel to wake up and be the shit and the urine"

"You can learn how to dress just by jocking my fresh, jocking jocking my fresh, jocking jocking my fresh"

"Ayo I know I got it first I'm Christopher Columbus, y'all just the pilgrims" 

Nobody really said anything good, except Jay and TI really. And Kanye starting off his verse with that auto tune? It has got to go.

And What the hell was Wayne talking about?

• The "singing"

Very, Very Annoying. 

• TIs Verse

TI is really the only one who actually came correct on this track. He isunderrated, but defenantly not best in the game. No where near.

There ya have it. I don't really care if many of you think i'm just being bias. I listen to a lot of things hip hop has to offer, there's better things than just this (check the next blog). Its just that with all the hype, I should expect dope beats and dope rhymes. Not just one or the other.
